SmartPDF Tools Desktop
Not published yetAll 69 of 69 tools work offline on Windows: PDF editing, Office and EPUB conversion, passwords, certificate signatures, permanent redaction, PDF/A, invoices and OCR for printed English, Urdu and Arabic. Documents are processed on your PC and never uploaded; the app blocks internet access.
System requirements
- Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit (x64)
- About 500 MB of free disk space
- 4 GB RAM or more recommended for OCR and large PDFs
- No internet connection needed after download
Install
- Download the installer and check its SHA-256 checksum (PowerShell:
Get-FileHash ".\SmartPDFTool Desktop 1.0.0 Setup.exe"). - Run it, choose the folder and whether to add a desktop shortcut. No administrator rights are needed.
- Start SmartPDFTool Desktop from the Start menu.
- Prefer no installation? Use the portable ZIP: Extract All, then run SmartPDFTool Desktop.exe.
The app is not yet code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may show “Windows protected your PC”. Choose More info and then Run anyway only if the checksum matches the one on this page. The warning goes away only after the app is signed with a code-signing certificate and builds reputation.
Uninstall
Settings → Apps → SmartPDFTool Desktop → Uninstall (or the uninstaller in the installation folder). Your documents are never touched. Settings and the recent-files list stay in %APPDATA%\SmartPDFTool Desktop; delete that folder to remove them too. The portable version is removed by deleting its folder.
Good to know
- PDF to Word, Excel and Markdown rebuild the text, tables and pictures; the exact page layout is not copied. Scanned PDFs need OCR first.
- Redaction removes the text from the file. Where text sits on top of a picture, that page is turned into an image so nothing stays underneath.
- Certificate signing needs your own .p12/.pfx certificate; the built-in test certificate is for trying the feature only.
- Direct scanner control is not included: scan with your scanner's app or phone and add the pictures.
Privacy
No account, no tracking and no uploads. The app stores only your settings, favourites and the list of recently opened PDFs in your Windows profile.
